About Badia...
Badia has been formally studying middle eastern dance since 2001, and has been dancing professionally since 2003. Her instructors include Eva Cernik, Coke Timpe, and Mahisha Alail. She has had a love of dance all her life, having also studied tap, ballet, and jazz.
In addition to studying in the US, Badia has also traveled to Egypt and Turkey to increase her knowledge of this art form and perform. Badia studied Oriental dance as well as Turkish Roman and various folk dances (Kasik, Blacksea) while in Turkey. She has taken workshops from many well-known dancers, including Morocco, Suzanna Del Vecchio, MoMo Kadous, Cassandra, Fahtiem, Fat Chance Bellydance, Mona Said, Raqia Hassan, Magdy El Leisy, Khaireyya Maazen, Faten Salama, Lucy, Dr. Serphil, and Sema Yildiz.
Badia is the featured performer Saturday nights at Tajine Alami in Manitou Springs. |

Badia has performed in many stage shows, both as a soloist and with troupes. Her performances include pieces in the "Raks el Sehr" shows in Fort Collins, CO, "Desert Journey" in Pueblo, CO, "YALLA!" in Manitou Springs, CO, the "Dancing the Ancestors' Echo" series in Colorado Springs, CO, and the 2005 Ahlan Wa Sahlan festival in Cairo, Egypt.
Badia is also a member of the belly dance troupe Gidda Hoop in Colorado Springs.
